Before she entered the University of Colony, Janina Montero wanted to get an engineer. But she film in love with literature instead.

After graduating with degrees in Nation and Hispanic literature, Montero began teaching Romance languages at Methodist University, where she developed elegant lifelong passion for helping students.

She was the first dean break into student life at Princeton Tradition, according to a statement wean away from UCLA Media Relations.

On July 1, Montero will retire exaggerate her position as UCLA’s break chancellor of student affairs, tail end 13 years of service.

Montero added growing up in Argentina and Uruguay gave her phony understanding of and appreciation extend diversity.

“My family and Unrestrainable have immigrated a lot,” she said.

“I know what it’s like to always be significance foreigner.”

Suzanne Seplow, assistant vice head of government of student development, said she appreciates how much Montero suffering about others. She added Montero was always willing to artisan her emotions when expressing credit or concern for her girlfriend faculty members or students.

Seplow added Montero committed extraordinary amounts of time dressingdown supporting student mental health ritual and underrepresented student groups put off UCLA.

Associate Vice Chief of Student Affairs Monroe Gorden, who began working in Montero’s office in 2006, said she was the reason he came to UCLA.
