Holocaust scholar Lawrence Langer argues similarly that Wiesel evokes, rather than describes: "Wiesel's qualifications is ballasted with the shipment of fiction: scenic organization, acting through dialogue, periodic climaxes, dissolution of superfluous or repetitive episodes, and especially an ability cause somebody to arouse the empathy of sovereign readers, which is an evasive ideal of the writer obliged by fidelity to fact."
Franklin writes that Night is the record of the 15-year-old Eliezer, capital "semi-fictional construct", told by authority 25-year-old Elie Wiesel.
